I am SebastiĆ”n Villanueva (MaravelĆ), a composer, music producer and creative developer working across film, documentary, audiovisual media, live performance and interdisciplinary projects. I create music and sound with a strong sense of narrative, identity and place ā combining composition, production, recording, sound design and musical research to develop projects with a distinctive voice. My work moves between cinema and documentary, contemporary composition, traditional music, electronic sound, live performance and visual storytelling.

I compose and produce original music for documentaries, films, series, animation, advertising and audiovisual projects, working closely with directors, producers and creative teams. Rather than applying a predefined musical style, I develop the sound of each project from its narrative, characters, imagery, cultural context and emotional landscape. From an intimate acoustic score to an experimental electronic sound world, the music is developed as an integral part of the storytelling. BIO
SebastiƔn Villanueva
Composer, producer, and researcher from BogotĆ”, Colombia, with a master’s degree in composition and production from the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, and a graduate of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. His music has been internationally recognized at festivals such as the International Classical Guitar Festival in Girona and the Locombia Festival in France. He has received grants from the Colombian Ministry of Culture and has taken his music to several European countries. Nationally, he has won awards in guitar festivals and competitions. He currently directs the Ā«Art for Peace EncounterĀ» and the production company Ā«El MaravelĆ,Ā» collaborating in the creation of music for audiovisual media and cultural projects.
